The multi-panel form of the Nolli Map inspired this series of drawings based on the form Rome, and patterns found in Roman pavements, mosaics and architecture. The handmade paper is from linen pulp, made at Dieu Donné Paper workshop. A pulp-painted representation of the Aurelian wall is cast into the surface, with linocut prints of various patterns incorporated into the paper structure. The pages were drawn on with wax and conte crayon, then rearranged into a nine-panel composition.
